So far this is a program that works from the Ag Society Forum, using a call from individuals regarding their needs or availability of tools. An arrangement for the use of a tool is made between the owner of the tool and the interested party. This program serves the Boundary region.
This program also includes a sharing of information such as; how to use, or adjust a tool, the best tool for the job, when to use a certain tool, and where to find the right one. It is a simple start to what could be a much bigger program – depending on the number of people that get involved. So get involved and make this all that it can be!!
Future possibilities? A tool inventory that could belong to the members in a structure of a Tool Co-op. Tools would be available for rent. Money from the rental of the tool would be used for wages, for service and maintenance, and/or the purchase of replacement or new tools. See the Kootenay Land Agricutltural Society website for their program, inspiration, and ideas.
